In a quiet St. Louis suburb, naturalized Italian Johnny Polo is found dead from an apparent overdose of his heart medication. Sergeant Jenkins soon uncovers evidence of murder linked to local political and economic power struggles. With his chief refusing the case, Jenkins works solo, interviewing former employer Donna Loyd and enlisting Sheriff McElliott’s help. The Forge is a moving story about a young man’s search for purpose. Through mentorship, discipline, and faith in God, his life is transformed from confusion into clarity, reminding us that true greatness is shaped in the fire of surrender and growth.
There were too many irrelevant parts that could have been shortened, and too many characters that didn't advance the plot. Either way, some things didn't add up. This was just another played out plot with little, if any, originality in it. By the end of the film, I wasn't happy that she finally got her freedom, I was happy that it was finally over.
"Up" features one of Pixar's few Asian-American heroes and explores the institutionalized hardships elderly people face. Also, Dug is a good boy.
