Vietnam vet leaves the ugly congestion of Los Angeles and moves north to the "paradise" of rural Oregon. He is soon befriended by a group of hardcore paramilitary survivalists, who try to bring him into their circle of righteous Armageddon-ready warriors. Put off by their extreme views, he refuses their offer and, now knowing too much, becomes the target of their aggression... fighting to survive against the odds in the wilderness.
Having Sersi be the central force in Eternals is unprecedented in its viewpoint and focus, from demonstrating a gentle type of leadership, to being overlooked in a group setting but succeeding in the goal at hand anyways, to having romantic options, to strength and integrity, and majority screen time - for a group that's given less screentime than aliens.
Who knew a drunken game of truth or dare could launch one of the most chaotic rom-coms of the year? The Threesome takes Connor’s fantasy night with Olivia (Zoey Deutch, in peak queen-of-indie form) and Jenny (Ruby Cruz) and flips it into a deliciously messy nightmare when both women end up pregnant. What follows isn’t cheap comedy—it’s a whip-smart, heartfelt exploration of love, consequence, and the beautiful disasters we call adulthood.
The relationship between the characters is what makes this film stand out, and it’s just all-around fun.
Acutely funny and always well-intentioned, Last Week Tonight has a lot of heart for a satirical-news program.
In addition to the cast being delightfully diverse this time around, the film was just loosely-plotted and action-packed enough to keep a casual fan like myself entertained. While I do agree that the writing of Cole left much to be desired for an original character thrust into a preconceived universe, none of the characters seemed particularly fleshed out in terms of personality; however, I think that's to be expected when you're watching a film literally inspired by a video game.
This is a movie that combines a ghost story, revenge tale, and serial killer obsession into a cinematic experience that uses your fears against you.
