“Host:” Quarantine Horror for the Online Generation (Review)
Shudder’s Host (not a particularly original title, I must say) attempts to bring the spooks to “the quarantine generation” by presenting us with a scary Zoom call during lockdown.

A down-and-out food delivery driver, Josh, and a fiery restaurant worker, Kayla, team up for a comedic and chaotic night of deliveries. Demanding customers, stolen sushi, and the festive mayhem on Christmas Eve push some life back into their lives and get them to dream just a bit more. Set in urban Honolulu, DASHER is a local take on what’s likely a nationwide story for young people living the gig economy – where working long hours just to get by discourages any life beyond the next gig.
