COPA 181 is the first feature film by Brazilian director Dannon Lacerda. It is a 100% independent production that deals with the relationship of a couple that is affected by the events in a gay sauna. Awarded in several festivals in Brazil and in other countries, the director had the premiere of his film at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival in October 2017.

A refreshing twist is that all the kids’ powers are…kind of useless. There’s a kid who can only move in slow motion, a kid who has every power in the world but can only use them randomly, and our main character Missy who has no powers at all. The thesis of the film seems to be that it doesn’t matter what kind of powers you have, its the way you use them, which is good for the warm and fuzzies.
'Ms. Davis’ Close Friend' will make you think about the meaning of death and what it means to be alive, and if there’s really a race to be run with one's inevitable demise.
