A story that starts with a typical sibling quarrel between Melinda, who is a conservative teacher and Shirley, a typical modern teenager. Shirley decided to earn her own money to the point of selling her soul just to show that she can live outside the shadow of her older sister. In reality, Melinda is keeping the secret of her sad past to protect her beloved Shirley.
Eventually, “Hobbs and Shaw” introduces us to a Samoan community. Clearly, Johnson’s Samoan roots are on display. Quite frankly, I found this section of the film very intriguing. The “Fast and Furious” franchise has a solid track record in the diversity department
I love The Last Jedi. I don’t think there has been a Star Wars movie in quite some time that brought something new, something fresh to the table.
‘Better Than Chocolate’ isn’t perfect, but it sure has charm! The characters are great. Some took longer to grow on me than others, but ultimately they’re all compelling! I appreciate how a select few help those around them to grow.
Anna May Wong was a talented actress and a fashion icon and still had to fight for everything she had due to hatred and racism.
Severance is about breaking down facades and confronting old models that were once frameworks of our lives. The somewhat subtle message to me is it’s never too late to fall in love, no matter your insecurities.
Emily and Stephanie are back... just add gin and drama.
