The world has been attacked by a type of virus brought by aliens, which causes humans to turn into zombies. At the same time, a number of aliens have descended to Earth and are eliminating anyone who is not infected by the virus.
Carolina Caroline follows Caroline (Samara Weaving), a bored young woman dreaming of escaping a small Texas town where nothing ever happens. When she meets Oliver (Kyle Gallner) at her workplace while he is conning the owner, she sees her perfect opportunity to get out. Their whirlwind romance strongly echoes Bonnie and Clyde, as the two quickly embark on a bank-robbing spree.

And I guess that’s the real story of Rey and The Rise of Skywalker; they could have been so much more, but they were just more of the same.
