Jean, a young Breton working at the shipyards in Toulon, chafes under routine and confinement. Living with his cousin Simone, he one day vanishes—leaving behind her money and a gun. He embarks on a wanderlust‑fuelled journey, hitchhiking into the unknown, guided only by chance encounters and longing for freedom.
I highly recommend Dark Waters. It’s a highly engrossing picture, which lends itself to cautionary storytelling. The dark information continually grows, inspiring change and accountability altogether. Overall, Haynes’ picture will not be known for its inclusiveness--but it will be known for being a fantastic, engrossing film.
'Motherless Brooklyn' is a 1950s whodunit made by its star, Edward Norton. Like most detective films in this setting, the cast is mostly white males (with a few notable exceptions).
