Alex returns to his village with Jordi, after a while, in order to celebrate San Juan night. However, due to a summer storm, they have to shelter in an old abandoned house where both played when they were children. In there, some conflicts of the past will turn up.
America is the crux of the storyline: she is the only person in existence with the power to jump between universes. As central as America is to the Multiverse of Madness story, she somehow didn’t get that much to do.
This is not a slavery story, it is a freedom story. The viewers only see Harriet as a slave for the first few minutes of the film. To me, it felt like watching the origin story of a superhero…which is both good and bad.
Although Fargo is not actually based on a true story, I do believe it is worth the watch. It has drama, suspense, and a mysterious figure to keep you engaged.
It’s the most loving tribute to cinema and to Ingmar Bergman, set in world that feels so habitable that I felt like only re-watching this for eternity, because of how inviting it looks and feels.
We got a movie that takes the old school approach of trying to creep you out with chilling atmosphere more than anything else.
