New Million, "the city where a million dreams come true," has developed thanks to the efforts of its Heroes. In this city, visited by people from all over the world, a dome-shaped stadium floating on the sea has been born. It's called "Grand Sea New Million." Plans to hold a summer festival as the opening event have been floated, and the stadium management has asked the Heroes for their help. [HELIOS] has agreed to fully cooperate for the sake of the city. Not only will the Heroes perform at the festival, but they'll also be helping with the event itself, working across sector boundaries to prepare for the festival's opening. However, one problem after another arises... Furthermore, behind the scenes, [Eclipse] and his allies are secretly plotting. Will the "Summer Festival" be able to open safely?
As this critic continues to look back at some of this Summer's films I have taken in, I would be remiss if I didn't mention one of the most overall unsettling trends in Hollywood over the last several years.....sequels, reboots, and remakes. Look, I am all for seeing more than one film for certain originals that made a splash, ie: "Jurassic Park", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Transformers", etc.

Marlon Wayans is magnetic as this legendary quarterback who's basically selling salvation with a smile that never quite reaches his eyes. But the story keeps running in circles: more tests, more cryptic pep talks, more ritualistic drills. The sports-as-religion metaphor beats you over the head when subtlety would've been more effective. The middle drags, and that finale chooses spectacle over substance. It's undeniably stylish, but left me cold. Also worth noting: despite the Monkeypaw connection, this isn't actually a Jordan Peele film—he didn't write or direct.
