Zara, a young and pretty housewife has been married to Pascal, a rich London banker for the past ten years. They got married only three months after they first met and their love hasn't faded away since… or so it seems. Like many couples, although they try to hide it, routine has settled in and they each need to experience new sensations. Two months ago, Zara fell for her son's teacher. He comes to see her as often as he can, mostly during his lunch breaks. Their passion is so intense that they have to make love at least twice before he leaves as if nothing happened.
The gentle, emotional nuances of Evan’s coming-of-age story would have been so beneficial to have incorporated into the life of a POC character. Showing a Black, Asian or Latino young man that is afforded the space to be vulnerable, flawed and sensitive while driving a compelling and widely-loved narrative would have been a game changer.
Hulu continues its Summer releases with The Princess. This film follows the princess (yes, she is unnamed) as she attempts to escape her tower, refusing to be wed to a cruel man vying for the throne. Action-packed and snarky, this is a decently fun film if you need a fighting fix.
