The height of subversive horror cinema is Jennifer’s Body. No, I will never budge on that. Yes, Cabin in The Woods is funny, Scream is very well made, and the Scary Movie franchise is …. there. But nothing is quite as satisfying as watching the teenage succubus that is Jennifer Check rip apart boys. 'Barbarian' is horror infused with something ridiculous that makes the whole thing entertaining.

Desi Arnaz was an innovator in television and Lucille Ball was a sketch comedy clairvoyant of sorts; 'Being the Ricardos' focuses on their genius as a couple, but shies away from the interracial aspect of their marriage.

Bong Joon Ho’s masterpiece, Parasite (2019) became one of the few international films to break into the American mainstream.

Hanna Bergholm's 'Hatching' shows us that the modern version of the cardboard world trope is social media.

'Don't Breathe 2' is a sequel that forgoes almost everything that made its predecessor good, and asks audiences to root for a rapist on top of that.
