This is a story of a community of women who have learned to survive and thrive on their own, within the confines of traditional roles and overarching patriarchy. Written and directed by Rajni Basumatary, Wild Swans is warm and touching, featuring a glimpse into a culture rarely seen in cinema.
During the third act, the momentum stalls, largely due to the film’s obsession with Kubrick’s visual design. But all in all, Doctor Sleep is a cinematic success, defined by rich characters and high powered emotion.
