These are real portraits painted by a director with lived experience, cultural connection and an amazing eye for visuals.

I think these messages and the way they are presented in this small-town in Texas are increasingly more important as the internet/ social media becomes more and more critical and judgemental every day. 'The Worst Person In The World' follows a part of life I don't see often portrayed on-screen: extended adolescence.

Ultra-violent storytelling has never been my thing, but the issues with Scarface go beyond that. The film perpetuates harmful stereotypes about Latinx immigrants and uses gore and misogyny for shock value that never serves any purpose. The whole venture is frustratingly empty, and left me desiring something more.
