Few movies deal with aging (particularly aging women) with as much compassion as Relic does. Yet it’s not sickly sweet and not a soapbox rant against ageism. Relic simply is, allowing the horror to seep in quietly and carefully.
The one-way journey went to the desert that refused to offer an answer or a transcendence.
By undermining the appeal and credibility of black characters, the show compromises the very idea of diversity and representation it sets to promote.
