A student in politics, Jón, is covering for his friend from school as an assistant in the kitchen of a remotely situated home for the disabled for one weekend. Strange working procedures at the home come to Jón´s attention. Disputes seem to be resolved by a secret voting and Jón thinks democracy is threatened. But all is not what it seems.

The Resort has an excellent climax surrounded by disappointments. Somehow, at a mere 75 minutes, this movie still manages to be 70 minutes too long.
Overall, “Dark Fate” is a run-of-the-mill flick. Together, Reyes and Davis have excellent chemistry, but their characters’ story is nothing new, lacking surprise and deep emotion. During the middle points, the film drags considerably, and when the action hits, it feels consistently tight, eliminating the rhythm and fluidity of conflicts.
