Forrest J. "Forry" Ackerman was a fixture in the science fiction and horror scene for as long as anyone can remember. Having picked up a sci-fi magazine as a nine-year-old boy, the stage was set for a lifetime of passion for the subject. Starting a sci-fi club led to writing one of the genre's first fanzines. Getting to know writers and artists in the field landed Forry work as a literary agent and he began amassing one of the world's largest collections of fantasy material. A meeting with James Warren would turn into a pop culture- changing event as Forry was asked to head a new magazine and "Famous Monsters of Filmland" was born. He started opening his house to the public in the early 1950's, a tradition he would carry on through three Ackermansions up until 2008. His collections were stuffed to the rafters in every nook and cranny, leaving visitors to wonder where there may be living space. "Uncle Forry's Ackermansions" tours us through all three of his homes.
The tale of the Snyder Cut will undoubtedly go down as one of the most fascinating stories in modern film history. It is one of the rare times that movie fans were able to rally together and champion an issue so much so that it actually came to fruition.
It took writers D.B Weiss and David Benioff two years to give us a promising final season. Two. Years. It was just going to be six episodes, which was short considering that all the other seasons — except season 7 — were 10 episodes. 10. 6 wasn’t enough, and even HBO wanted to give the writers more episodes. More seasons, even. However, the writers wanted to get out of the show as quickly as possible to work on other projects. This abruptness is clearly shown in this season.
I can say without question, that this is the first movie I’ve ever seen where art imitates life so much that I could 100% identify with it on a personal level. The predominately Black cast of characters are people with hopes, dreams, fears, and ambitions.
Adam McKay might have been more concerned with cramming cameos than he was in this story which is a bloated criticism of the rich and famous… delivered unto us by the rich and famous.
