New horror film "Pretty" is good to look at thanks to 19-year-old director Metecan Duren.

The composer Carl Maria von Weber is on his way to Prague with his bride Caroline Brandt when their carriage is attacked by bandits. Fortunately, Count Enzio von Schwarzenbrunn rushes to their aid and puts the villains to flight. However, the noble host who invites them to his castle is nowhere near as noble as he suspects, having staged the robbery himself in order to bring the enchanting Caroline to his aristocratic residence in this clever way and get to know her better in this luxurious setting.

Both aspects of her character are built up over the course of the film and don’t seem abrupt or rushed. These ideas aren’t thrust upon the viewer in a preachy manor, the scenarios that occur feel believable given the rural setting. The film presents watchers with problems whom those like Ellie may face, and leaves us to sit with them and reflect.
"Cruella" is a Disney Retelling Done Right
Overall, Cruella stands above the other Disney retellings. Its dark and bold, and that is exactly what these retellings should be. Emma Stone continues to prove she's one of the finest young actresses working today, and Emma Thompson gives one of the best villain performances in the last decade. The fashion is stunning, the dogs are adorable, and the story is wildly vibrant and original. It's classic movie fun, and it shouldn't be overlooked.
