Chae Ha Kyung gets divorced three weeks after her wedding and becomes a promising wedding planner in the next five years. She is given a mission that will decide the existence of the company; the wedding preparations of Eun Min Se, daughter of one of the biggest Japanese investors of the company. Min Se was brought up without a mother or siblings. Reckless and troublesome, Ha Kyung has a tough time taking care of her and is sensitive enough as it is but she finds out that the groom is no other than the man she divorced five years ago, Seo In Jae. In Jae suggests she puts someone else in charge of the project but she rejects the idea. This project will decide the position of branch manager for her and she couldn't risk it. Ha Kyung tells him instead if he had any feelings left for her, to suck it up and just walk down the aisle. That's the only way she can become a branch manager.
The film, which focuses on an Argentinian family during an intimate birthday dinner, efficiently captures the eccentricities of each character as well as the nuances of their interpersonal dynamics.
An aspect of She-Ra that I find refreshing is even though a large portion of the cast is on the LGBTQ+ Spectrum, being gay is never mentioned. While this might initially sound like a negative thing, in the show’s land of Etheria being on the gay spectrum is shown to be so common and normalized that straight isn’t the default. As much as there is to appreciate about narratives revolving around the obstacles that may come from being non-heteronormative, it’s nice to get immersed in a world where no one bats an eye at all to any sort of differing identity.
I believe in homages, but there's a proper way to borrow a creative idea instead of making it appear as if you hit the copy and paste button. Most likely, anyone is better off simply reading the books. Or just put on Scream.
As a horror buff, I was intrigued by people claiming 'The Sadness' was the most disturbing movie they've ever seen or to watch with caution. So, I finally put the internet to the test and watched it for myself... to varying results.
This captivating film can only be truly appreciated by seeing it firsthand. There are not enough words to describe the terrible beauty one experiences while watching it.
