Artemou (27), a girl from a rich family from a village in Cyprus, falls in love at first sight with their poor and working class man Petris (29), their love is doomed since her cruel rich mother (48) has other plans for her, she wants to marry her to the also rich man of the village Konstantinis (26) so that they can unite their fortunes and their money. Allied to their love is his sister Petri (27) with whom they make a plan for the wedding day of Artemous and Constantis.
Its predictability shouldn’t distract from the enjoyment that the pure cinematic imagination behind the camera elicits. It is a movie of crises both moral and mortal, oozing with CGI, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Intergenerational friendships and community can be so powerful, and this was a great example.

This can be attributed to the fact that behind-the-screen, the industry primarily does not reflect the breadth of diverse difference that is present in daily life. That’s why when something as powerful and authentic as Minari comes along, it is both incredibly wonderful and needs a large audience to witness it.
