An Na is a planner at a start-up company who has trouble with the only developer of the company. She wants to get along with the developer, but he seems to be anti-social. One day, she gets a mission from her CEO to meet "Turtle Egg" who's been messing with the ecosystem of the app they've been working on. And from "Turtle Egg", An Na learns the biggest lesson of her career.
I can say without question, that this is the first movie I’ve ever seen where art imitates life so much that I could 100% identify with it on a personal level. The predominately Black cast of characters are people with hopes, dreams, fears, and ambitions.
Animation as a medium of storytelling can be thought to be open to all ages and as I hope my readings will reveal, they could be interpreted as transgender stories.
Eventually, “Hobbs and Shaw” introduces us to a Samoan community. Clearly, Johnson’s Samoan roots are on display. Quite frankly, I found this section of the film very intriguing. The “Fast and Furious” franchise has a solid track record in the diversity department
As one of the women said in the film, friendship in your teens is “as important as any lover” and it’s clear they lived that philosophy throughout their early adult lives as well.
