A girl who has left the village returns home pregnant. Fearing shame in front of the neighbors, the father tries to dissuade his daughter and get rid of the fetus, but in the end, the love between father and daughter prevails.
Mr. Malcolm's List is a pleasant promenade through a fantasy Regency-era England filled with people of color. For fans of Bridgerton, this is the PG version of the show, but with completely colorblind casting and a much lighter tone.
This is a film that is going to leave some people bored, and some people thrilled.
Ultimately the problem with The Bubble is that it plays everything for laughs to get around the audience’s defenses. But it comes off like a privileged white male thinking that ridiculing everyone else equally is the road to equality. And it’s not. And it's definitely not funny to pretend that it is.
