The Flamenco Clan poster

The Flamenco Clan

The life of the Carmona clan - pivotal in flamenco history - is portrayed. A guide to follow the development of an important part of the flamenco tradition from the Sacromonte caves to modern-day Madrid. Lucas has grown up to a flamenco rhythm and at 9 years old he already sings wonderfully. Not in vain, his grandfather is Juan Habichuela, who, at his age, was already begging in bars and taverns to support his family in very difficult times for gypsies. At the age of 17, the Carmona patriarch left Granada to settle in Madrid and try his luck. Over time he would become one of the most in-demand flamenco guitarists in the capital. His brother Pepe remained in Spain occupying his position and taking care of his sons Juan and Antonio who some time later, together with his cousin José Miguel, Pepe's son, founded Ketama in 1986. A family tradition that continues with the new generations and, every night, in the family home: clicking heels, snare drums, guitars and dancing.
