“Dangerous Lies” is as Predictable as Can be
The film may be a thriller, but I wasn’t thrilled by it. If anything, I was bored and annoyed.

The musician and writer of the comic book "Ghost with Heart of Stone" Eduardo meets the gorgeous Laura, who is engaged and close to her marriage, in a bookstore and immediately they fall in love for each other. Sooner they get married, and one night, Eduardo unexpectedly dies, but his soul does not move to the Third World. He meets the Ghost with Heart of Stone stranded in his house, stalking his beloved next door neighbor D. Mariana and he asks to the ghost how he can communicate and say farewell to Laura.
The film may be a thriller, but I wasn’t thrilled by it. If anything, I was bored and annoyed.
‘Better Than Chocolate’ isn’t perfect, but it sure has charm! The characters are great. Some took longer to grow on me than others, but ultimately they’re all compelling! I appreciate how a select few help those around them to grow.
In the film adaptation, director Jon M. Chu turns each musical number into a massive show stopper, with grand set pieces and a wealth of diverse dancers. Yet, in this attempt to show reverence for the people of the Washington Heights barrio, Chu, or maybe more specifically those in charge of casting, left out a crucial part of the community, Afro-Latinos.
Ruben Östlund muses about his characters, “As soon as you get close to a person, you see them as just another human being”. It is widely recognized that aboard the luxury yacht in ‘Triangle of Sadness’, the different groups of people represent a small society as a commentary on classism and gender binaries.
‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ is preoccupied with plot and not on the greater struggle of the Osage.
Villeneuve’s Dune is a masterpiece for its crafting process, but references to David Lynch's picture are sometimes too obvious.
