Contrary to his family’s expectations and despite having lost one eye, Karol Śliwka leaves his rural home to study art in Warsaw. He decides to be a designer of graphic signs. He fills communist Poland with his works and defines the country’s visual landscape. His signs do not hang in galleries, but are present in Polish homes, in Polish streets, at institutions and workplaces. At the same time, he leads an ordinary family life, which he documents passionately over the years. This extremely gifted artist is still considered one of the greatest sign designers in the world.
What can I say about this Will Ferrell/Julia Louis-Dreyfus-led “dramedy?” Well, the comedy part of Downhill is completely non-existent. And I should have known that the film was a flop when I walked into an empty theater at a prime time on a Friday night.

Facing the world with our fair share of uncertainties and/or apprehensions, many of which, sadly, may be well-founded, is nothing to sneeze at. Influenced and buffeted by the constant barrage of social media, fake news, and general upheaval present in our contemporary reality, what IS real and what's not becomes a blur.
All in all, “Event Horizon” is a cinematic misfire, begging to be perfected in the future. While it possesses an array of admirable visuals, the film leaves much to be desired. If only we could see Anderson’s preferred cut, which featured more character development and tortuous imagery. In the meantime, I have a catchphrase for this film: In space no one can hear you snore.
