A general hospital in Gyeongsang-do in 1990. Woo-sik and Jae-gu are working at the hospital as a receptionist. One day, an AIDS patient enters the hospital. Woo-sik and Jae-gu are instructed to bring the bankbook and the young daughter, Tae-bun, from the home of the AIDS patient who did not pay for the hospital. They head to Tae-bun´s house in fear of getting AIDS.
The plot could’ve really been interesting if the elements of lycanthropy was integrated with perhaps the struggle of identity of being LGBTQ+. It's an experience for so many that as they’re starting to realizing their true selves, they feel like a monster, especially if they come from unsupportive homes or communities. Instead, the horror and transformation elements seem thrown in without contemplation of how this could deepen the narrative.

Even with its straightforward premise, “Richard Jewell” is ramped up by exceptional drama. In all honesty, the performances are out of this world. As Jewell, Paul Walter Hauser becomes a walking representation of gullibility. His bumbling antics create the perfect hero, and very quickly, we feel the societal heat that surrounds our protagonists.
