Nearly dying in an accident, a husband and father - trying to salvage a tenuous relationship with his family - is resuscitated after being dead for three and a half minutes - only to discover that he's now being haunted by his own ghost. Now independent, this Shadow wants to destroy the thing he loves the most. In order to save his family, this father must dig deep to find the source of the Shadow before everything he loves is destroyed.
The re-living of this historic trial through this film is relevant to current politics and disturbingly enjoyable to watch due to the excellent performances from the ensemble cast. If you like a juicy courtroom drama, this film will definitely scratch that itch in a really chilling manner.
It only seems to prove that when the company had their backs against the wall and needed an all pleasing, generic movie that had to make up for The Last Jedi, they chose to sacrifice almost everything that made their main protagonist interesting and that made her stand out as the strong female character that a generation of young movie goers was supposed to look up to. Instead, we were left with a Rey that was so much less than she could have been. And I guess that’s the real story of Rey and The Rise of Skywalker; they could have been so much more, but they were just more of the same.
