Luscious young brunette Laura runs away from home after she is raped by some creep. Laura goes to Los Angeles to hook up with her drug-peddling Aunt Mary. When that doesn't work out, Laura leaves and joins a call-girl racket run by the mysterious Schneider. However, things go awry after Laura discovers Schneider's dark secret and then finds herself the unwanted target of a lethal sniper.
Written and directed by Eva Victor, who also plays Agnes, the main character, Sorry, Baby is slow and artsy, but extremely effective. It shows how the trauma developed after a sexual assault has a ripple effect and loudly echoes in the victim and her life for years after.
From its visually stunning opening credits, which show women dancing through a forest to musical rhythms that sound almost primal, to its quiet, heartbreaking final frame, Mona Fastvold’s historical rendering of the Shaker religious movement is an experience that will stay with me for a long time.
With such a raw look at the 15th century, it seems that Disney was really trying to step outside of its element with this motion picture.

Escape The Field is a serviceable horror thriller. The characters are easier to remember as horror character tropes. As I wrote this review, I only remembered the characters by their tropes: #FinalGirl, #Everyman, #Badass, #MeanB*/SexyGirl, #Realist/BlackLesbian, and #TheNerd.
