Avatar: Still a Groundbreaker in CGI, but Not in Story
I suppose you could argue that the story wasn’t what Director James Cameron was aiming for, it was the visuals. The spectacle of it all was the point, and it certainly shows.

A female doctor uses the body of a young playboy to insert him the brain of his teacher, an eminent physician who she loves, in order to perpetuate his life. But something goes wrong and this broken Jesus with superhuman strength escapes and hides to avoid showing his deformity.
