“Tony” is Yet Another Good Biopic
The problem isn’t that it’s bad. It's good. But it fails to stand out from a crowd of similar films.

Ramanan and Madanan are the two shepherds who are bosom pals. Meek and handsome, Ramanan used to sing and play the flute as he led the flock to the pastures Chandrika , the daughter of the wealthy Advocate Peshkar gets fascinated by the charming shepherd with the sweet voice. Madanan warns Ramanan about the treacherous ways of the wealthy and advises him to keep away from Chandrika. But Ramanan is blinded by his love for Chandrika.

I understood post-memory as passing down stories and images of one’s experiences that are not your own. For decades, rape has been depicted in cinema through a third-person perspective, leaving the viewer to observe rape; not to experience it.
Two Summers ago, on May 27th, 2022, the theatrical cinematic realms were re-awakened from their post-COVID dormant state of being by a little film titled "Top Gun: Maverick". It re-introduced us to the absolute elation of seeing not only a highly anticipated (and, granted, 36 years in the making!) sequel, but the return of the quintessential Summer blockbuster to witness on the BIG screen again.
In a film where a Black couple is framed to be the lead characters, they still managed to get shuffled off to the sidelines. The enthusiastic cast delivers well on goofy bits- but can only go so far before they begin to fall flat.
'Uprooted' is a short film on what's happening in Ukraine as of today. This captures the emotions of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
