When Nebulous Industries announces they are recruiting Rabbids for a mission to Mars, Hibernation Rabbid doesn’t think twice. As a genius Rabbid misunderstood by his stupid peers, he has always dreamed of going to the red planet. He takes off with three other Rabbids: Disco, the lively queen of the dance-floor, Cosmo, the pilot and Mini, the adorable tiny Rabbid. Facing an interplanetary space threat, our heroes will have to learn how to overcome their differences and understand that true wisdom comes from the heart!
The plot could’ve really been interesting if the elements of lycanthropy was integrated with perhaps the struggle of identity of being LGBTQ+. It's an experience for so many that as they’re starting to realizing their true selves, they feel like a monster, especially if they come from unsupportive homes or communities. Instead, the horror and transformation elements seem thrown in without contemplation of how this could deepen the narrative.
The highly anticipated 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' has been released in theaters and now it's time to rank all the previous MCU 'Spider-Man' films from Tobey Maguire to Tom Holland based on their awesomeness.
Dramatic Horror!!! Wait, what?? Did you say "dramatic horror"?? IS there such a thing?? I mean, TRULY. Well, if San Francisco-based, Pakistani-born independent filmmaker Dr. Hassan Zee and this film critic have anything to say about it, there IS such a beast as experienced through the director's newest feature film set to officially debut October 4th in the City by the Bay. Folks, indie film will always be a bastion of experimentation and originality, and this film for me fits that bill.
The Forge is a moving story about a young man’s search for purpose. Through mentorship, discipline, and faith in God, his life is transformed from confusion into clarity, reminding us that true greatness is shaped in the fire of surrender and growth.
While the film didn’t hit me as emotionally as I wanted it to, I still enjoyed it. I simply wish there was a little more, particularly with the world building.
