The writer Aurélien is in hospital and learns that his parents have died in a car accident. The loner reluctantly travels to Brittany to arrange the sale of his parents' house. He can't help the memories that the small town evokes in him. Is Aurélien really the black sheep of the family? On the coast in Saint-Lunaire, Mado, an old family friend, upsets his certainties. His former best friend Hervé, a real estate agent in charge of selling the house, surprises him with a discovery.
Earth and Blood is slow, but it still has it’s entertaining moments. If you’re into thrillers, or want to watch something new, then this film might be for you. As for me, Earth and Blood was tolerable enough.
A24 keeps producing amazing films and X belongs with all the brilliant titles under its name. And is definitely a must-watch for a film enthusiast!

Two movies that do a fantastic job in conveying the ongoing struggle for racial justice are Selma (2014) and Just Mercy (2019).
It’s no wonder Peele won an academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. His script is layered with perspective and subtlety. Through a terrific vision, Peele creates the gift that keeps on giving. The clues and symbolic representations are aplenty, and as each viewing passes, you are destined to find something new. That’s a mark of great cinema.
