A young but sexually frustrated woman fails to fix the broken light bulb of her rental apartment bathroom. She lives with her daughter as her husband does long-term blue-collar work in abroad. After her apartment window cracked, she feels more lonely and naked. When the landlord visits to fix it all, she infatuates with him.
Love, Simon (2018) based on the book “Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda” (by Becky Albertalli) is a teen LGBTQ+ rom-com with themes of longing to find others with similar struggles, and ultimately is a story of acceptance of identity from those around you, and most importantly, from yourself.

It's the common practice in Hollywood of late, sometimes offering us victorious reimagining of what can be considered cinematic classics while also, more often, falling flat on their UN-imaginative faces in utter defeat and lackluster results. I suppose you could argue that the story wasn’t what Director James Cameron was aiming for, it was the visuals. The spectacle of it all was the point, and it certainly shows.
