The digital presence left by people I knew who died young has vanished. Songs they’ve uploaded, photo albums, public diary entries, all deleted and all that’s left is generic obituaries. When I think of these people, I think of a place. With two cameras, I’m capturing the outline of a memory we shared there in present and in past.
I highly recommend Dark Waters. It’s a highly engrossing picture, which lends itself to cautionary storytelling. The dark information continually grows, inspiring change and accountability altogether. Overall, Haynes’ picture will not be known for its inclusiveness--but it will be known for being a fantastic, engrossing film.
"The Platform" is horror and science fiction film doubling as a visual commentary on capitalism and economic inequality. The movie is not for the faint of heart nor the viewer hoping for political neutrality in their film's depth.
Happy Halloween! If you were debating capping off Spooky Season with a viewing of Hocus Pocus 2, it is just very clear that this is more for the younger audience as opposed to people who grew up with the original.
Why is 'The Green Knight' so white? People of color are so removed from the origins of 13th century art. We’re looking toward the future, and part of that should be updating aspects of our stories to mirror those evolutions.
"Beef" is a new dark comedy with a near entire Asian-American cast
Do not trust Rotten Tomatoes. That is what I learned after watching Eternals. Critics currently rate it a 48%, but it's an amazing character-focused Marvel movie with positive diverse representation.
