In a post-apocalyptic Cape Town, where machines hunt the last human survivors, the stubborn Tink and her wedding dog, Indy, search together for robot parts to help her discouraged sister Kari finish building their "protector". Kari does not want Tink to endanger herself, but Tink disobeys her orders and goes to the scrap yard to look for one last outstanding part. There she is attacked by a murderous machine. She escapes, but the machine follows her home. Will Tink be able to fix their half-built protector robot in time to save her and her family's lives?
