Wayward Really Is Worth All The Hype
It’s been five months since Wayward premiered on Netflix and it still has some of us in a choke-hold.

All her life, Yeshua spends her Holy Week break within the constraints of her room. Now in her last year of high school, she wishes to go with her friends to Batangas to spend the vacation together. Despite being estranged from her mother, Maria, Yeshua still tried to seek permission to go with her friends. However, due to their severed bond, Yeshua’s efforts go to waste and only cause their wounds to open up after years of pretending that they don’t exist.

This Netflix series is a remake based on the book series of the same name with a more diverse main cast.
Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame is a unique film coming from the same studio that brought us The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. While it does have its silly moments to maintain Disney’s family-friendliness, it also carries themes that stick to audiences years after its release.

For the entirety of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Marion remains in full control of both her body and her personality, a rarity for female characters at the time of the film’s release. She’s granted depth with personal demons from her past and emotional vulnerability when the situation deems it appropriate for her to grow alongside Indy. She avidly rejects the notion of being anything other than a sassy, humane rebel, and Indy’s equal in every way. This she does while still maintaining her femininity.
