Journey of a woman on a writer's retreat, struggling with her identity as a closet homosexual. Her life unfolds through three love interests, one real, one a figment of her imagination and the third virtual - man, woman and AI.
It’s the most loving tribute to cinema and to Ingmar Bergman, set in world that feels so habitable that I felt like only re-watching this for eternity, because of how inviting it looks and feels.
It’s 5:30am. The baby’s crying, but you need to finish prepping for your big pitch at work that morning. What do you do? You do the near impossible: both. That's what "Workin' Moms" is all about.
It’s passionately protective of the women mentioned in the story or appearing on screen. Just like the article and the #MeToo movement, the film could help a trapped person find the courage to fight back.
'Yuri!!! on Ice' turned queerbaiting on its head and gave me hope when I needed it the most.
Baggage’s experimental mixed formats visualized a woman’s brave inner journey of visiting the museum of her fragmented memories.
Honey Don't! is a chaotic queer noir that's part detective story, part midnight movie madness. Margaret Qualley is fantastic as the wise-cracking private eye Honey, with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans adding their own dry humor to the mix. The mystery itself is pretty loose, but the film makes up for it with crackling sexual tension, weird side characters, and razor-sharp dialogue. It's messy and uneven, but in the best possible way.
