‘The Little Mermaid’: Halle's Musical Debut Rockets to $400+ Million Dollar Box Office
Halle's belting, crystal clear notes, and warm tone infused something into this blockbuster that I thoroughly enjoy.

Majestica made their festival debut at Wacken on August 2nd 2025. Majestica are bringing symphonic power metal back into the spotlight at full speed, and quite literally. Originally founded as ReinXeed, the band, fronted by singer and guitarist Tommy Johansson, also known to many as a member of Sabaton, has become a flagship of epic metal drama. Their sound is reminiscent of Helloween, Rhapsody, or Stratovarius, while always remaining unique and energetic. Anyone looking for the ultimate power metal highlight will definitely find it here. Setlist: "Power Train", "Night Call Girl", "Thunder Power", "Rising Tide", "No Pain, No Gain", "A Story in the Night", "Above the Sky", "Metal United", "Alliance Forever"

A trouble-making teenager spends the summer working at a Southern California beach learning about responsibility.
'Airplane Mode' is a young adult movie that is about a woman who learns to step away from her smartphone, and from social media.
The Gates, John Burr’s new thriller film, is a disturbingly realistic portrayal of three Black twenty-somethings - Derek (Mason Gooding), Kevin (Algee Smith), and Tyon (Keith Powers), as they accidentally take a wrong turn into a gated community that’s more like a modern-day sundown town. The three friends witness a variety of crimes in their new surroundings, including an attempted homicide and an attempted rape. As they attempt to alert the authorities and do the right thing, they are thwarted at every turn by the worst horror stories of American conservatism - racist white suburbanites, reckless gun violence, corrupt police, religious mania, and a megalomaniacal pastor.
For the most part, 'Sweet Girl' recycles tired hyper masculine revenge tropes, but a surprise twist in the end turns it into a female-centric revenge film.
'Playing with Fire' was clearly a film made for a kid or tween-ish audience. Keeping that in mind, I thought 'Playing with Fire' was alright, though it did portray some harmful stereotypes.
