Liu Gengsheng, a down-and-out township hair salon owner, is forced to redeem himself after falling into debt after the death of his wife, Wang Yanhua. He stumbles into a bizarre vocational college, receives alternative training, and experiences absurd and touching growth stories with students of different personalities (old, weak, sick and disabled women).
