'Joker' (2019)
Joker is a compelling, character-driven, psychological tale that has a message behind the madness.

Susi, as a blind young woman, has grown up with a naive dependence on her older sister Laura. As Laura helps Susi prepare for her first date, we get a glimpse at the distressing, obsession that has actualized in Laura. The film conveys the complex dynamic and co-dependent relationships between the sisters. Although the older sister, Laura, is not the blind one, she cannot see the true reality, and she insists on inappropriate possessive relationship. 'Like Sugar On the Tip Of My Lips' is about Laura's feeling of lost, and love that comes from pain. Over the course of the story, we also witness younger sister's self inner revolution to freedom and courage.

One of THE most frustrating trends in the mainstream film industry over the last several decades has been the onset of comedy efforts that seem SO focused on being crude and/or gross-out in all ways possible. That, at least for me, makes them no longer funny.
The Lighthouse is patient and hypnotic, pulling us in with its mysterious atmosphere and characters. The film’s slow pace proves to be monumentally effective, showcasing the tedious nature that comes with isolation and poor two-way communication.
Netflix’s recent Millie Bobby Brown vehicle, Enola Holmes 3, is a disappointing and confusing entry in the stellar Enola Holmes franchise. Directed by Philip Barantini, the film stars Brown as Enola Holmes, estranged sister of Sherlock Holmes, Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, and Louis Partridge as her love interest, Viscount Tewkesbury. While it deserves credit for its exciting action scenes and attempts to expand the diversity of its Dickensian setting, the most recent entry in the series completely scuttles Enola’s underdog status from the first films that made her so charming and gave a touch of realism to the story of a young, unmarried woman living in London while self-employed as a detective.
