Refusing to surrender to the accusations, La Sombra pieces together the clues one by one. As the puzzle slowly comes together, he uncovers a devastating truth: the real murderer is someone far closer than he ever imagined.
I hope that more people will see Joyland, understand the situation, and eventually change themselves and society so we can have a more accommodating world where everyday tragedies like the one depicted in the film do not occur.
A cat-and-mouse chase that will make viewers nostalgic for the cartoon series.
This is ambitious horror filmmaking, and in a lot of ways, I fully admire its ambitions. For me, the film’s sloppiness defines its overall quality.
While the film didn’t hit me as emotionally as I wanted it to, I still enjoyed it. I simply wish there was a little more, particularly with the world building.
