Budi, a university student, is good at playing Futsal though his mother disapproves. Gita, Budi’s lover also disapproves, as she wants Budi to focus more on his studies. Gita is envious of Budi because she cannot continue her studies due to lack of funds. Gita works in a boutique and uses her money to pay for her studies and achieve her dream of being a famous designer. Budi is a member of D Naga’s Futsal team, led by Tyo. Tyo offers Budi an enticing chance to play against the Sharks team, who are D Naga’s nemesis. Meanwhile, Gita’s career in fashion is rising and she is promoted to be the assistant of the boutique owner. Finally, the couple rarely has time to see each other anymore.
I understood post-memory as passing down stories and images of one’s experiences that are not your own. For decades, rape has been depicted in cinema through a third-person perspective, leaving the viewer to observe rape; not to experience it.
The Slumber Party Massacre wonderfully combines the suspense of its horror with its commentary on gender, creating a memorable slasher classic that began a horror trilogy entirely written and directed by women.
Escape The Field is a serviceable horror thriller. The characters are easier to remember as horror character tropes. As I wrote this review, I only remembered the characters by their tropes: #FinalGirl, #Everyman, #Badass, #MeanB*/SexyGirl, #Realist/BlackLesbian, and #TheNerd.
A 3D animated film centered on chasing fame in the humble stomping grounds of middle school. Unfortunately, while the protagonist dreams big, the plot falls short and fails to capture even a semblance of diversity.
