'The Polar Express' (2004)
A wondrously imaginative, diverse, and spirited allegory of childhood and the arduousness of adulthood.

Martono falls in love with Susilowati, who is called the "Kebaya Fantasi". But Susilowati's father, Dahlan, opposes the relationship. Martono is just a driver, while Dahlan, a car repair shop owner, prefers a rich man as son-in-law. Dahlan pairs off "Kebaya Fantasi" to Darwis, a rich kid. But Lily, a female bandit, already has her heart set on Darwis. Because of Lily, Darwis is arrested by the police. He is involved in a robbery that is masterminded by Lily. This paves the way for Martono to approach Susilowati. Moreover, Dahlan's business is actually funded by Amijaya, Martono's long lost father.
A wondrously imaginative, diverse, and spirited allegory of childhood and the arduousness of adulthood.
In The Women and the Murderer, directors Mona Achache and Patricia Tourancheau center women—the very demographic true crime is designed to appeal to.
The Bluff unravels its mystery slowly, opening on the capture of a ship captain named Bodden (Ismael Cruz Córdova) and the swift execution of his entire crew. Then, viewers are treated to a tranquil British settlement in the Cayman Islands in the 1850s, where a mother bakes a coconut birthday cake for her son in a house suspiciously rigged with makeshift tripwires and burglar alarms. As it turns out, that mother is Priyanka Chopra’s quick witted and resourceful ex-pirate Mrs. Ercell Bodden, and her husband’s captors are on the way to the island to hunt her down for abandoning them and stealing their loot. The pirates of the Libertas land on the beaches of Cayman Brac, and the scenes that follow show a Viking-esque slaughter of half the island.
Director Martin Scorsese broadens his boundaries from mafia-driven movies, to a Buddhist biopic of the 14th Dalai Lama. While Buddhism strives for peace, ‘Kundun’ reveals the violence inflicted on Tibetan Buddhists and Scorsese’s depiction of violence does not stray away.
I didn’t love Expecting Amy, the mini-series following Amy Schumer’s pregnancy, but it brought up a lot of great unspoken side-effects of working and growing a human in America.
'Pariah' tells a powerful, mesmerizing, and unflinchingly honest story of identity.
