Grief, Fate, and Destiny in 'Wolf Like Me'
'Wolf Like Me' works if you want a show to shut off your brain while watching. If you think too much, you'll hurt yourself.

Fleeing the bustle of a big city, a young couple seeks refuge in the chilling silence of the deep woods. In this half-forgotten primeval world, nightmares blur into waking dread, and sinister tales of old come alive: chorts, rusalkas, nightwraiths, witches, and ancestral curses lurk just beneath the surface. As dreams curdle and reality unravels, something old and malevolent tightens its grip — drawing them ever deeper into the pitch-black abyss of Slavic horror. What lies behind old prejudices, and what dark secrets does the past of these places hold? Where does true evil reside — in black magic curses or in the hearts of the people around you? The first step into the swampy quagmire has already been taken, and you will never return to how things were before.

'Zombieland: Double Tap' was entertaining and fun at times, but not very evolved. It had poorly developed female characters and stereotypical characters of color.
'The Worst Person In The World' follows a part of life I don't see often portrayed on-screen: extended adolescence.
Adapted from a 2014 novel by Atticus Lish, Preparation for the Next Life is the feature film debut of documentary filmmaker Bing Liu. With the help of screenwriter Martyna Majok, he paints a realistic and somber portrayal of Aishe, a Uyghur immigrant, as she struggles to make a living while undocumented in the United States.
Two Distant Strangers (2020) centers around Carter James (Joey Bada$$) as he tries to get back home to his pitbull, Jeter, after spending a night at the apartment of his date Perri (Zaria Simone). What gets in the way of Carter reuniting with his dog is that every time he tries to leave Perri’s apartment, he is killed by police and wakes up back in her bed in a never-ending cycle. It addresses the issue of police brutality which rightly has been in the public eye more and more with the unjust deaths caused at the hands of law enforcement.
I have no idea how getting an abortion is still not a basic right at this point, but that means the fight is far from over. So, films like Happening are ever-relevant.
