Transgender Representation in “Pose”:Season 1
Pose tells stories of queer joy and love in a time of intense hate and sadness.

Archival footage and interviews with 22 lesbians and gay men give an overview of gay history in the UK from the 1920's. Clause 28, the Well of Lonliness, AIDS, the Pet shop Boys, it's all there in some form or another.

“And I think to myself….what a wonderful world”. Louis Armstrong sang about this notion via his classic 1967 song, an ode to witnessing elements of our life that should be but some reminders of exactly what that concluding line of each verse indicates. Now we see our contemporary realities and, just being honest, it makes a sentiment like this seem SO overtly far away….perhaps even impossible….to accept or believe could be. It sounds harsh, but again, so much of what is occurring speaks not to beauty, but bedlam.
Desi Arnaz was an innovator in television and Lucille Ball was a sketch comedy clairvoyant of sorts; 'Being the Ricardos' focuses on their genius as a couple, but shies away from the interracial aspect of their marriage.
At first glance, “The Good Liar” is a respectable piece of fiction, starring Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren. But underneath everything, the film expertly hones the unpredictability of deceit.
A world of expansion awaits.
Falling in love with 'Rocketman" all over again.
