'Overcast' - MiamisFF Review
The makings of a great midseason filler episode that would connect in many different directions. This is a police drama filler with a guest director.

After years apart, Ding Duocai returns home only to find that his father no longer remembers him. His jealousy grows as he notices a close bond between his father and insurance agent Gu Liulian, who appears to share a father-daughter relationship with him. However, as they compete for the father's attention, their original intentions soften. In the warmth of a father’s love, the two begin to heal past wounds and ultimately rediscover happiness together.

Overall, Altered Carbon: Resleeved is pretty “meh.” It’s cool and all that it takes a different approach from the TV show to make it animated rather than live action, but it doesn’t help that the animation looks like something from a video game.
Many have interpreted Maya Deren’s Meshes of the Afternoon as a dream sequence, but what if the repetitive scenes we are given are not dreams but, a time loop.

'Motherless Brooklyn' is a 1950s whodunit made by its star, Edward Norton. Like most detective films in this setting, the cast is mostly white males (with a few notable exceptions).
With This is Us now on its fifth season and A Million Little Things on its third, we have a lot of material to entertain the hypothetical: if these two shows got in the ring together, who would come out victorious? Despite the endless recognition for the former’s success, I dare say I’d put my money on A Million Little Things once all is said and done.
