It is a depiction of an uncompromising perpetual warrior who has paid a high personal price for his total loyalty to his beliefs. The film shuttles between past and present, between Avnery's public persona and the psychology of his inner world. It combines archive footage with present-day scenes to produce a well-rounded portrait, while simultaneously examining the very question it has set out to answer: how does one create a cinematic portrait?
