On Thanksgiving, according to Garfield, people celebrate food by eating as much of it as possible. It's a tradition! But that tradition is history following a checkup from vet Liz, who says Garfield must go on a diet.
One of THE most frustrating trends in the mainstream film industry over the last several decades has been the onset of comedy efforts that seem SO focused on being crude and/or gross-out in all ways possible. That, at least for me, makes them no longer funny.
My review’s title is a nod to Shakespeare and is entirely deliberate. In all honesty, “Black and Blue” is a satisfying experience, complete with solid craftsmanship. With the help of cinematographer Dante Spinotti, Deon Taylor (the director) creates a murky, lived in atmosphere.
What can I say about this Will Ferrell/Julia Louis-Dreyfus-led “dramedy?” Well, the comedy part of Downhill is completely non-existent. And I should have known that the film was a flop when I walked into an empty theater at a prime time on a Friday night.
Through three intricately crafted seasons of television, "Hannibal" has managed to make itself into the best incarnation of the self-titled work.
