Osman is a young man who works as a courier and studies at university. While riding his motorcycle, Necdet hits him with his car. Osman does not complain about Necdet. Necdet, impressed by Osman's honesty and loyalty, offers him a job. However, Necdet is a man with a dark past. The opening of past records leads to the start of unwanted events. Rahmi, the fiancé of Necdet's daughter Sedef, his father Talat, and the mafia leader Atıf also become involved in the events. Osman and Necdet will be drawn into various traps they did not anticipate.
Documented human suffering is never easy to view or read about and is understandably triggering for many people, but it can be educational, and education is a key to change. An overwhelming amount queer people worldwide (and in my own country) have it far worse than I could imagine, and documentaries such as Welcome to Chechnya bring issues to light that certain groups of people would never see.
Over the last several years, I have had the privilege of being one of the critics having the opportunity to watch and review several films from writer/director/producer Marcellus Cox, whose efforts are never anything less but grounded, relevant, and steeped in unflinching glimpses illustrating the gripping, inspired, and ever-vacillating realms that make up the human condition.
Overall, The Shining is a great film to watch for its atmosphere and setting. While the characters’ portrayals could’ve been more accurate to the book, they’re all still memorable nonetheless.
