Avatar: Still a Groundbreaker in CGI, but Not in Story
I suppose you could argue that the story wasn’t what Director James Cameron was aiming for, it was the visuals. The spectacle of it all was the point, and it certainly shows.

During his shifts, he uses surveillance cameras to keep an eye on the few moviegoers in the auditoriums. In reality, he’d prefer to see himself on the big screen. When he interacts with people, the line between game and reality becomes blurred.
