A former Las Vegas Detective turned Private Investigator is tasked by an old friend to investigate money that went missing from the casinos. At the same time, he is attempting to get over pain from his past and build a relationship with a past client. He soon discovers that the case he is working on is blending into personal life. As bodies start turning up his past is slowly revealed.
Juno is extremely funny, very well-written, and contains great performances. The film is also about a very important topic, one that is extremely relevant now: women’s reproductive rights. Is this Oscar-winning film spreading a pro-life or pro-choice message to its audience?
A refreshing twist is that all the kids’ powers are…kind of useless. There’s a kid who can only move in slow motion, a kid who has every power in the world but can only use them randomly, and our main character Missy who has no powers at all. The thesis of the film seems to be that it doesn’t matter what kind of powers you have, its the way you use them, which is good for the warm and fuzzies.
